Improvement

I believe that throughout the year I got progressivly better. I think i got so much better mainly because I tried to get better. When speaking in the latest speech I didnt say um anywhere near as much as I did the first speech. Also I made way better eye contact with everyone. I think the teaching methods used by Mr.Lunn really worked. I learned to let the silence just be the silence. When i couldnt think of what to say I didnt try to fill it with ums and uhhs. I think I used my hands better in the last video and drawing the audience into my speech.

Goods and Bads HOW TO

I believe this speech was much easier than any other speechs i have done. It was easy because i knew the matieral so well that it was like i was speeking to a friend or teaching. My confidence was much better and i did well looking at all the people. I think i did well keeping my voice loud and explaining things in enough detail but not to much. I think that i had some things to work on though. I said a lot of "um's" and i stuttered alot. There was many things that i was trying to dumb down so people would understand what i was talking about and i wasnt sure if everyone was understanding where i was or were getting lost. Like Mr.Lunn said i lost i think i should have done a better job keeping my audience in tune and my speech more fun.

Informative Speech

I believe I did an ok job on my speech. It would be easier to review this is my speech would play without skipping but ya. I deffinatly could have pracitced a little more because I said um a lot. I also used and a lot and last but not least I used some "likes". I feel that I could have done a better job making eye contact but it was pretty good. In the beginning I angled myself to the right side of the room (towards the camera) and it seemed since then I didnt really look the other way because I would have had to turn all the way around almost. When I got to the power point I made less contact and explained the slides. I feel that I could have worked on making more eye contact while explaining. I think I did a good job on describing things to people in terms they would understand and giving examples.

My Speech

I felt that in my speech i did pretty well. I think i could have improved on the speaking aspect. I spoke sort of fast and somethings may not have made sense. I need to slow down and go into more detail about things that may confuse people. I thought my posture and voice was very well and the length i thought was about right.

Actors

Leonardo Dicaprio as Purtruchio- Because he is young as pretty
Reese Witherspoon as Katherine - because she seems like a shrew and is ugly
Megan Fox as Bianca - she is supposed to be pretty and young
Robert Di Nero as Baptista- is old and seems like a father figure
Jake Gyllenhaal as Lucentio - Also seems to be a romantic type of guy a gal would fall for.
Christian Bale as Gremio - Also would play a good suitor for Bianca
Phillip Seymor as Tranio - he would play a good side role as a servant
Matt Damon as Hortensio because he is cute and would play a good suitor.

Homework Vocab

South Park: South Park is a great example for black humor. South Park may be the best at using black humor to create comedy. It gets most of its humor by pushing the limits and boundaries of comedy. As you can see on the left Michael Jackson is playing with Eric Cartman, because Michael was accused of child molestation it is pushing the boundaries making black humor.

Steven Wright: Steven Wright is a prime example of deadpan humor. Throughout his events he acts as if what he is saying is real does not change facial expression. He tells his storys and jokes with little to no emotion making it really funny.

Kenny vs Spenny : Kenny vs Spenny uses slapstick in every episode. Every episode the loser of a competition must do a humiliation. As you can see the competions they go through usually have to do with inflicting pain or embarrassment.

Family Guy: Many times you will see Family Guy using satire. They often try to change peoples political views. As you can see on the left Peter is holding a Pig in the car with Bill Clinton.

Post

Hello, my name is Jon Ahrens and the only reason I made this blog is because of Mr. Lunn. I'm not quite sure why we have made these but oh well. I used to play football and I'm about to graduate.
